True Hope For Mexico
Linking the resources of a compassionate world to meet the needs of Mexican children and communities.
Mexico Program Overview
HRS True Hope mobilizes people, partnerships, and practical resources to strengthen vulnerable communities in Mexico through sustainable service, leadership development, and long-term relationship building.
Our work is rooted in dignity, collaboration, and empowerment — ensuring that support is not only delivered, but multiplied within the communities we serve.
Through three strategic initiatives, we partner with local leaders and organizations to address food security, family support, youth development, and community leadership.
Each experience builds both
local impact and
global perspective, equipping volunteers to become compassionate, capable leaders at home and abroad.
The Great Tamale Project
Piedras Negras, Coahuila | December 18-20, 2026
Each December, hundreds of volunteers partner with more than 35 local community organizations in Piedras Negras to host large-scale holiday gatherings and provide critical food resources to families.
What We Do
- Distribute approximately 1,500 tamale ingredient baskets
- Support community celebrations for children and families
- Partner with orphan care programs, recovery centers, and local ministries
- Strengthen neighborhood-based outreach initiatives
Why It Matters
Each food basket:
- Provides immediate nourishment
- Creates income opportunities for families
- Encourages community connection through shared meals
This initiative promotes dignity, self-sufficiency, and long-term relationships.

Immersive Trip to Oaxaca's Mountains
Rural Mountain Communities | 2027 July or April
The Oaxaca experience is an immersive and relationship-driven initiative. Teams travel to remote communities that receive little outside support, building long-term partnerships based on trust and sustainability.
What Makes It Unique
- Living with local families
- Serving three mountain communities in one week
- Supporting local leaders through practical training and collaborative workshops
- Creating simple, sustainable tools that communities can continue using year-round
This experience cultivates humility, adaptability, resilience, and deep cross-cultural understanding.
